Endangered Species

Endangered Species are a group of animals that have been put on a list due to the fact that they are very close to extinction. There are a variety of animals on the list ranging from Polar Bears to Rafflesia Flower.

Animals get close to extinction for a variety of reasons, but the most popular reason is due to their predators, which includes humans. In fact, human activity is the leading cause for animals to be put onto the endangered species list.

Not only do we pollute their habitats, but many hunt animals for glory, and we bring these animals into exotic environments that they don’t belong in. According to a statistic from the UN environment program, scientists estimate that 150 to 200 species go extinct every single day.

Recently, the Endangered Species Act has been put into place, giving endangered animals safety and rights. However, this act is only in effect in America. Unfortunately, a lot of countries have little to no laws that protect their endangered species.

Thankfully, there are a variety of ways that an average person can help endangered species. For example, a simple solution would be to educate others. Learn and then educate your friends and family about wildlife near you.

Just by reducing your own personal footprint and water consumption, you would be saving an animal’s habitat. Finally, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities and if you want to directly help animals, there are several nonprofit organizations dedicated to saving animals in need that could use donations.
